John was born in Ayr, Scotland and formed his first jazz band when he was
14 years old. He was a member of the National Wind Band of Scotland
for 5 years and the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland for 2 years and toured and recorded
extensively with these groups.
While studying at Glasgow University he played with many groups including
The George Penman Jazzmen, Duncan White's Jazz Band, Ayrshire Youth
Jazz Orchestra, The Tay Valley Stompers, Fionna Duncan and was lead
trombonist in the orchestra of the King's Theatre in Glasgow. He moved in
switzerland in 1987 to join the leggendary Picadilly Six.
Over the last years John Service has been

Band (Switzerland/Great Britain) -Johnny McCallum Band (Ireland) - Gay
