John SERVICE - Trombone

 

  John nasce ad Ayr in Scozia e forma la sua prima band all’età di 14 anni. Membro della Wind Band of Scotland per 5 anni e della National Youth Brass Band of Scotland per 2 anni John si esibisce in numerosi tour registrando intensivamente con queste due orchestre.
Durante gli studi all’Università di Glasgow John suona con molte formazioni come The George Penman Jazzmen, Duncan White's Jazz Band, Ayrshire Youth Jazz Orchestra, The Tay Valley Stompers, Fionna Duncan e come trombone solista nell’orchestra del King's Theatre di Glasgow. Si trasferisce in Svizzera nel 1987 per entrare a far parte dei leggendari
Picadilly Six.

Negli ultimi anni John è stato invitato a suonare con molte formazioni: The Ambrosia Brass Band (Italy) -The Milano Jazz Gang (Italy) -Mike Daly's Rhythm King's (Scotland) -The Harlem Ramblers (Switzerland) -Sid Kucera Band (Czech Republic) -Dan Barrett Band (USA) -The Dixie Corporation (Switzerland) -Swingtime Special All Stars (Germany/ Great Britain) -Rowan Smith Band (Australia) -Louisiana Shakers (Australia) -Phil Franklin Band (Great Britain) -Dave Wilson & The Uptown Shuftlers (Scotland) -Bill Fanning Big Band (Scotland) -Walter Weber's Inti. Jazz-Band (Switzerland) -George Kay Band (Switzerland/Great Britain) -Johnny McCallum Band (Ireland) - Gay Mcintyre Quintet (Ireland) -Jambalaya Six (Italy).

John was born in Ayr, Scotland and formed his first jazz band when he was 14 years old. He was a member of the National Wind Band of Scotland for 5 years and the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland for 2 years and toured and recorded extensively with these groups.
While studying at Glasgow University he played with many groups including The George Penman Jazzmen, Duncan White's Jazz Band, Ayrshire Youth Jazz Orchestra, The Tay Valley Stompers, Fionna Duncan and was lead trombonist in the orchestra of the King's Theatre in Glasgow. He moved in switzerland in 1987 to join the leggendary Picadilly Six.
