Fondata a Milano nel 1981, l'Ambrosia è ormai un'istituzione presso tutti gli appassionati di jazz: la prima Brass Band italiana, ma soprattutto l'unica ad eseguire concerti di due ore e a portare la tipica atmosfera delle street parades in ogni genere di manifestazione attraverso l'intera Europa. Per sua natura una brass band non resta sul palco in attesa del solito pubblico di bene informati, ma va a cercarsi la gente per le strade e i quartieri.
E in tanti anni di attività, i musicisti dell'Ambrosia, pur essendo impegnati anche in altre formazioni, hanno davvero portato il jazz nei luoghi più impensati...suonando le tipiche marce del Carnevale di New Orleans, classici del jazz tradizionale, del dixieland e del be-bop di autori come Louis Armstrong, Paul Barbarin, Jelly Roll Morton, Miles Davis o Dizzy Gillespie, ma anche rhythm&blues con i brani della colonna sonora del film Blues Brothers, funk con brani firmati da Michael Camilo ma anche Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson,
Beatles, Rolling Stones, o autori italiani come Ivano Fossati, Fabrizio
De Andrè, senza tralasciare tutta l'influenza che i caraibi e i ritmi latini hanno portato e continuano a portare alla musica internazionale. Guidati dal nostro marshall parade Earl Conway, proveniente da New Orleans , attraverserete le strade della città al ritmo indiavolato di cassa e rullante ballando e cantando insieme a trombe, tromboni e sassofoni, trascinati dal ritmo e dalla potenza di suono dell'Ambrosia Brass Band.
 

Founded in Milan in 1981, the Ambrosia Brass Band is already a masterpiece for all jazz fans: the first italian marching band performs for two hours bringing the colours, the flavours and the music of the street parades in New Orleans through the whole Europe's Cities. The band doesn't stand on the stage waiting the well informed audience but goes walking and looking for the people who lives in the streets of the city and in the suburbs.
In many years activity, Ambrosia's musicians really took jazz music in so many unusual places all over Europe...playing New Orleans Mardi Gras marches, traditional jazz classics, dixieland and be-bop from authors as Louis Armstrong, Paul Barbarin, Jelly Roll Morton, Miles Davis or Dizzy Gillespie, but also rhythm&blues with the Blues Brothers movie songs, funk through pieces signed from Michael Camilo or Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Beatles, Rolling Stones,
italian authors as Ivano Fossati, Fabrizio De Andrè, but never forgetting the roots, the carribean influence and the latin rhythm who still give new air and refreshment to all international music. Leaded by our marshall parade Earl Conway, coming from New Orleans , you will walk through the streets of the city with the rhythm of snare and bass drum dancing and singing close to trumpets, trombone and saxophones, dragged from the powerfull sound of the Ambrosia Brass Band.
